The year is 2013. Fake mustaches and the word "swag" are all the rage. At 15 I moved out of the house to attend a boarding school for gifted students. I'm taking my first programming class: C++ with Ms. Sanjeetha.
I grew up in swampy Louisiana, my town only had two police officers, and my grandpa's first language was French. Programming? Never thought I'd be able to take a class like this. I'm able to catch on quickly and am having a great time. I'm so proud of myself that I am sending .cpp files to my parents on a weekly basis. Do they have any idea how to open them? No. That's ok, I'll explain it over the phone later.
My favorite project in this class was a receipt maker. It used simple user-input values, calculated tax, and displayed a new number. I felt unstoppable.
I want to revisit the memories that made me fall in love with computers when I was younger and attempt to recreate them:
early computer vision basketball/bubble game
desktop buddy
I also want to showcase my modern projects that are (thankfully) much cooler and advanced.
